The Mexican team, Digital Invaders, members of GrupoW‘s creativity school, has won first place in SoDA’s recent HTML5-Off Competition (Student Division). SoDA, along with Adobe, hosted the competition which provided students from all over the world a chance to push the limits of HTML creativity by submitting their most creative HTML animation work, using Adobe Edge Animate.
We received submissions from students all across the globe including the following 17 countries: Croatia, Philippines, Mexico, UK, Taiwan, China, India, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Singapore, Ireland, Colombia, Ukraine, Netherlands, Afghanistan and the USA.
For receiving top honors, the Digital Invaders have won an iPad as well as 3 seats to Adobe’s Creative Cloud and a 1-year subscription to the service.
Mark McQuillan, Partner and Technical Director of Jam3 was a competition judge and had this to say about their work, “Digital Invaders showed why working in a well-oiled team produces great results. Their concept was creative and mostly well executed. What I liked most about this application of Edge Animate is that is being used in a much larger, ambitious context.” Fellow Judge, Matt Griswold, Managing Partner of Soap Creative, was in full agreement with Mark’s assessment of the winners, “Right mix of ambition and execution. They kept to what they could polish well and then delivered.”
The submissions were judged on creativity and technical prowess. The Digital Invaders’ winning entry can be viewed here.
